Wedding Trends for 2019

Image untitled design 2

With the wedding season coming to an end this year, we are looking forward to 2019 to see what are the predicted trends.

The key trends for next year are metallic accents, neon signs, velvet decor, pastel colours and unique wedding 'cakes'.

Flower Arches
Wedding arches symbolise the gates to a new life that the newlyweds will begin after the exchange of wedding rings. Rather than the traditional wooden church arch, couples are now decorating them with flowers. It's set to be a big in 2019, as we've seen a glimpse of this already in 2018.

Metallic Details
The love of copper has been around for a while now, but copper and bronze are set to be brides’ inspiration in 2019. A nice copper glow creates a warm atmosphere, while bronze can be visually pleasing to the eye.

Chic Velvet
The want to add luxurious textures is on the up. Previously weddings have been styled with dainty lace and very light materials. But this isn't on the cards in 2019. Heavy velvet is the new in thing to have draped over comfortable seating, the top table and even the cake table.

Neon Signs
These add fun, quirky detail to any wedding; it adds a bright, unique touch to any venue. You can use them to add a pop to your colour scheme or a talking point amongst your guests.

Pale Flowers
Already a huge trend in 2018 but it's set to continue into 2019. All of the dusty pinks, pale lilacs and pale purples are still bang on trend. If you want to use lily for your wedding, we suggest you use the Asian variety as it's odourless. They have a noticeable smell, which can cause a headache for the guests.

Big Balloons
A new trend that is coming over to the UK is big balloons to decorate your venue along with one attached to the ceiling over the dance floor. Inside the balloon is confetti along with your old surname on. It's then popped at the end of the night, bringing a close to your old name. It's also a great photo opportunity with all your guests. Why not try it for yourself?

Organic Backdrops
Along with the traditional photo booth, a lot of couples are hiring flower walls for the day so they can have fun, relaxed pictures with their guests. The background usually matches with the wedding theme. If you had a vintage style, roses and peonies would be a lovely backdrop; for the marine style, choose decorations in the form of a boat with oars; a tropical wedding would suit green palm leaves.

Wedding 'Cake'
The traditional wedding cake is no more. Couples are becoming more and more creative with what they choose. From a cheese tower to mini macaroons and even doughnut walls they have become an alternative to a big wedding cake.

Hanging Flowers Decor
Similar to the flower wall, hanging flower decor is set to be huge in 2019. Couples aren't missing any chance to decorate every part of their day. Adding hanging flowers as the cake tables’ backdrop makes for a beautiful photo opportunity!

Photo booth
They are a great addition to any event. I know we are a little biased, but we have seen first hand how much fun everyone has!

Here at Platinum Moments, we include a prop box with all of our packages, so no one needs to miss out on the fun. With selected packages, you will also receive a CD with all your photos at the end of the night, so you can choose your favourites and print keepsakes to your heart's content. We can tailor our photo booths to any age group by adding a variety of different props that coordinate the theme of your event.

We hope this has helped any bride and grooms to be planning their 2019 wedding! If you need any entertainment hire for your day, please get in touch
